Frequently Asked Questions

Ideally you should look at ordering your dress nine months to a year before your wedding, but we do understand that this isn't always possible.

If you have a shorter time scale, let us know and don't panic. Not only do we stock sample sale gowns but we also hold rush order gowns in store that can be delivered in 4 weeks! For bridesmaids we ask a minimum of 4 months.

We advise booking an appointment as it means you're not kept waiting, but if you just happen to be passing you are more than welcome to pop in. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but trying on a wedding dress shouldn't be. That's why when you make an appointment our attention is all yours. We ask that you limit, where possible, the number of guests you bring with you to only 2 / 3 people, whose opinions you really trust. If you bring more, you'll find that all of the different views will be confusing.

During your appointment, you will have the opportunity to look through the sample gowns and make your choices, as well as having our guidance. You will be given discs to put on the hangers to indicate the gowns you would like to try. A consultant will be on hand to fit you in to the dresses.

We hold a wide range of dresses from £400 - £2,500. We also offer made to measurements by our Couture label Donna Salado, where you can also add you own touch to a dress at an extra cost.

We request a 50% deposit to be made at the time of order, with the balance due when the gown arrives in store. Monthly payment plans can be arranged, however we will not order the gown until a 50% deposit has been received.

Here at Stunning Bridal we offer all of our brides and bridesmaids a full in-house alteration service. All alterations are carried out by our very own seamstress who has years of experience with alterations to bridal gowns, bridesmaids and flower girls.

Your bridal fittings are carried out during midweek (Monday, Wednesday or Friday). Please note Saturday fittings are not possible, due to high demand of appointments.

At Stunning Bridal we do charge extra for alterations but will always discuss the cost before we carry out any work. We ensure that when you collect your dress it fits perfectly and is beautifully pressed ready to be worn on the big day.

We recommend that you do not buy your gown over the internet. We have heard from brides who have purchased online to find that they didn't receive the dress they expected, or it was delivered too late, some received counterfeit dresses others received used dresses or the wrong style or size.

It seems like a saving but, in the long run you don't save at all because you may be forced to pay hidden charges i.e import duty, delivery etc.

This is the most important dress you will ever buy. Saving a few pounds is not worth taking the risk, the internet is a great place for tracking down the styles you like before you visit the bridal store. But when it comes to purchasing, it has been proven time and time again the best place to buy is a full service bridal store, where you can see, feel and try on the gown of your dreams.

Don't forget, if you buy from a home trader or via the internet, you won't get the fittings and alterations service you would get from a shop and there is no one accountable for anything that goes wrong.
